I've Never Seen That in The Sky

I hear it all the time when I post a new image of the Milky Way. "That can't be real. I've never seen that before so it must be PhotoShopped."

I assure you that all of my images are captured by my camera and are indeed real. Do I edit them? Yes, I edit them for shadows, lighting, color, contrast, etc. But what you see is what was in the sky.

So how exactly did I capture that image of the Milky Way and how did I know when and where to shoot it?

I captured my first Milky Way while taking a workshop in Boone, NC. That workshop basically taught us everything we needed to know and my obsession was born!

Equipment

Having the right equipment is important but it doesn't necessarily have to be expensive equipment.
